This year marks the fifth anniversary of Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, putting forward the important concept of “people’s city”. The Social Work Department of Shanghai Municipal Party Committee joined hands with Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau and other units to collect opinions and suggestions from six groups including workers, young people, senior citizens, non-public enterprises, new occupation population, and community residents interested in public affairs. Participating leaders gave “happiness invitations” to 10 citizen representatives and sent best wishes to all, especially to senior citizens. Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau will research on the “golden ideas” in this “people’s city” opinion collection event to figure out the “golden key” to people’s needs and coordinate relevant departments for reaping the “golden fruits”.
