Recently Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau, Shanghai Finance Bureau and Shanghai Market Supervision and Administration Bureau jointly issued the Implementation Opinions on Promoting the High-quality Development of Meal Services for Elderly People in Shanghai. By next year, Shanghai will be home to a total of 400 community elderly canteens and 2000 meal aid stations with capacity of serving 250,000 customers daily.

The canteens can be found on “Suishenban Citizen Clous” APP. One can filter or search in the menu bar for the nearest canteen. In addition to providing information such as meal time, contact number, address and menu (of some canteens), it also designed a scoring mechanism so that citizens choose canteens based on comprehensive scores.
