2024 Shanghai “People’s Livelihood Interview” started airing on April 15. On the morning of that day, the leader of Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau presented at the live room, talking with the audience on topics such as elderly care services, protection of children in difficulties, disabled people’s welfare, social assistance, marriage registration, and charity etc. There were also discusses on newly-launched policies including the “application-free allowance for seniors” effective as from May and a lower threshold on family economic status when applying for social assistance subsidy.
