As the first city in China to enter into the aging society, Shanghai has always set it as a priority to let the elderly enjoy their old ages.  At the beginning of 2024, Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau issued Measures to Administrate the Overall Coordination and Allocation of Basic Elderly Caring Beds (For Trial). Through coordinating the elderly caring beds in nursing homes across 16 districts, the elderly whose actual address are different from that of their household registration can apply for living in nearby nursing homes.
