On February 27, Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau convened the 2024 social assistance work conference to summarize the social assistance work in 2023 and make arrangements for the work in 2024. The leader of SCAB attended the conference and delivered a speech.

According to the meeting, the social assistance work in Shanghai in 2024 should focus on four aspects to secure people's basic living needs: first, strengthen the system construction and consolidate the working foundation; second, deepen the formulation of "targeted assistance" and promote the implementation of policies; third, continue to standardize management and improve the social assistance capability; fourth, address each and every issue that is important to people's livelihood and deliver considerate care.
