On March 4th, Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau (i.e., Shanghai Administration Bureau of Social Organizations) convened the 2024 Shanghai social organization registration and management work conference. In this meeting, the guiding principles of the national social organization registration and management work conference, the seventh municipal social organization construction and management joint conference, and the 2024 Shanghai Civil Affairs Work Conference were conveyed and implemented. The city's social organization work in 2023 was summarized and work priorities of 2024 were arranged.

The meeting stressed that it is necessary to plan at high levels and accurately grasp the development requirements of the current social organization work: the first is to play a more effective role in promoting common prosperity in the process of Chinese-style modernization; the second is to focus on the main direction of Shanghai's "five centers" construction more closely; the third is to consolidate the Party building responsibility in the whole process of social organization registration management in combination with the requirements of institutional reform; the fourth is to always adhere to the overall planning of high-quality development and high-level safety, and promote the healthy and orderly development of social organizations.
