New couples in Shanghai now like to have their marriage registered during the Lantern Festival, a traditional day for family reunion, happiness and harmony. The marriage registration centers across the city completed a total of 638 marriage registration cases on that day. Each marriage registration center, adorned with festival decorations, carried out themed certificate-granting, marriage schools and festive activities so that new couples could feel and carry forward the excellent Chinese marriage culture in a strong Chinese romantic atmosphere. A team led by one of the leaders of Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau inspected the municipal marriage registration center and the marriage registration organs of Pudong New Area and Changning District to investigate and inspect the work and extend greetings to front-line workers.
