On the afternoon of January 16, leaders of the Shanghai municipal government paid a survey visit to Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau to make arrangements for key civil affairs tasks in 2024.

According to the meeting, in 2023, the civil affairs system worked hard to overcome difficulties and complete tasks in accordance with the work arrangements made by the municipal Party committee and the municipal government. In 2023, public services level witnessed continuous improvement and people's senses of fulfillment and satisfaction were effectively enhanced. In the near future, the civil affairs system is required to focus on elderly care with efforts to improve and optimize relevant service system; focus on assistance and secure people's basic livelihood; and focus on social affairs to bring more convenience and benefits to the people.
