  • Marriage registration involving foreigners, Hong Kong/Macao/Taiwan residents and overseas Chinese to be more convenient as from October 1 2023-11-20
  • Starting from October 1 of this year, Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau will delegate the Pudong New Area to perform marriage registration involving foreigners, Hong Kong/Macao/Taiwan residents and overseas Chinese with one applicant holding permanent residence in Pudong, and the Shanghai Municipal Marriage Registration Center will continue to handle the current marriage registration business.

    Five districts including Huangpu, Xuhui, Jing'an, Changning, and Minhang will also carry out pilot work starting from January 1, 2024. With continued advancement of reform, more districts will gradually be included in the pilot program.
