On February 25, 2022, the Shanghai Joint Meeting on Accelerating the Development of the Rehabilitative and Assistive Device Industry was held. Jiang Rui, the convener of the meeting and Director-general of Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau, attended and addressed the meeting. Shen Min, Deputy Director-general of SCAB, presided over the meeting and gave the briefings on relevant work. Representatives of 20 member units of the joint meeting also participated and exchanged their views.

According to the requirements of the meeting, relevant departments should enhance the sorting of policies and help eligible rehabilitation device enterprises to benefit from applicable incentive policies. Shanghai should take advantage of Qingpu District's inclusion in the second batch of national pilot regions on comprehensive innovation of the rehabilitation device industry to explore and establish effective industrial development patterns and policy support systems. Meanwhile, relevant departments should strengthen the popularization and application of such devices to help people in need to enjoy a healthier, more energetic, and high-quality life.
